In only a few years, the Boy Scouts of America will be celebrating its 100th anniversary. In an effort to prepare for this major milestone, the Redwood Empire Council is gathering stories and reflections from past scouts, scouters, and friends. The stories and information collected from these individuals will be used by the Council in publicity programs, as well “testimonials” in brochures used for raising funds to improve the camps and other facilities. Guide to Recruiting
Summer is a great time to recruit new youth into scouting because they get to participate in the exciting summer activities, such as Cub Camp. The attached Recruiting Guide has many ideas for unit leaders to implement to attact new youth to scouting.
The Council's new climbing wall is available for rental for your next scout meeting or event. To reserve the wall, complete the attached Wall Reservation Form and submit it to the Council office. Don't forget these:
Our outreach unit in Miwok District has some new and enthusiastic Cub Scouts whose families can’t afford to buy their uniforms. We are looking for donations of new uniforms or used uniforms that your son has outgrown for Tiger, Wolf, Bear Cubs and Webelos age boys. Uniform donation campaign

NEW: Troop 222 in the News
Troop 222 of Sonoma made news for their great work in earning merit badges. The troop started just a few years ago with only six scouts, and now has grown. (By the way, they also have 100% FOS participation!!!)
